Working on the House

We’ve been working on the house a lot lately. I’d have pics to show but they are taking for ever to email from my phone, so I’ll just tell ya’ for now. I painted the dining room a greyish-blueish-purpleish. We bought an ugly old 80′s chandelier that was brass, and painted it with black hammered spray paint, I’ve been working on making these two crappy bookshelf’s look nice. I painted two old good will chairs white, and Adam re-did the seats with a striped fabric, they’re looking good. We took this old bottom half of a china closet, cut it down, and put a sink on in, it’ll go into the bathroom when it’s done. It’ll still need some work. And I have an old victorian style dresser in the garage that is painted blue, I’m thinking about painting it black and using it in the dining room for storage. I built two wood boxes, and hung a shelf to put them on for the bathroom storage.

But here’s whats left

-demo the walls making a closet in my bedroom

-re-build my bedroom as two separate bedrooms

-demo two openings in the wall dividing our room from lil fellas room, to create two closets.

-move us into his room, it’ll need painted

-move him into our old room, it will also need painted

-and finally, finish the new room, it’ll need a lot of dry wall work, and flooring

Theres so much to do, we haven’t even started on the ‘real’ work yet, but I think we will be starting this weekend. I’ve actually gotten really good at framing and drywalling. I’m thing about learning how to lay my own carpet, since the new room will have nothing down. It’s either that or that crappy pergo flooring, but I’m SO SICK of looking at that crap!!! It’s also a little scary to think about how much this will all cost.
